Southern Cross Care (SA, NT & VIC) Inc was established in 1968 and is one of the largest not-for-profit providers of aged care and retirement living based in South Australia, also providing services in the Northern Territory and Victoria. Our vision is to support our residents and clients to be Better for life.

David Moran has been with Southern Cross Care for over 15 years and has been CEO for 9 years. David has qualifications in Property Valuation and has a long background in Property, Banking and Finance and Retirement Living. David has more than three decades of executive management experience in retirement living and aged care.He is passionate about the Better for life vision of Southern Cross Care for older people, inspired by the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal No.3 promoting healthy lives and wellbeing at all ages.

Southern Cross provides support through Health and Fitness, Home Services, Retirement Living, Residential Care reaching approximately 6,000 older Australians. Theses services are possible thanks to the 2,800 staff and 360 volunteers.

Southern Cross Care was an inaugural member of the Hub and rejoined in February 2025. David is passionate about the connection between operators in the Hub and the opportunities to establish communities of practice and research to practice initiatives where it is practical for individual operators. He is excited about the potential for positive contributions to the Hub community of practice from new and interstate members as the Hub expands across Australia from its South Australian origins.
